Lissara Presbyterian Church Bowling Club

The end of September does not seem so long ago, but it was then that our last bowling season began.

Our Secretary Frazer Duncan arranged a series of friendly matches with other Churches in the district. These included 1^st Ballynahinch, Kilmore and 2^nd Saintfield Presbyterian churches as well as Inch, Rathmullan, Killough and Saintfield Parish churches.

We enjoy each church's hospitality for away matches and then have a return match at home. Of course Lissara usually (or should I say always) do very well. There is always friendly rivalry on these occasions but it's not so important about who wins in these matches but that the game brings us together and we enjoy one another's fellowship and also the craic and banter that goes on.

In March we concluded the season by playing our club competitions when Peggy Robinson won the Ladies Singles title and Alan Brown won the Gent's Singles title. The worthy winners in the Pairs were, Betty Kirk and Robert Graham and in the Triples, Marie Greer, Betty Kirk and Alan Brown were the successful winners.

The Club meets on a Thursday night at 7.45 p.m. and we encourage new members, young and old to come along and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
