Duties of Committee Members (February 2006)
The duties of Committee Members are: -
Regular attendance at Committee Meetings which are held in the McClure Room on the 3rd Monday of January, February, March, May, September, November and December
Each member will be assigned to a ‘Counting Team’ which will be responsible for counting the offerings.
Each member will be assigned to `Vestibule Duty’. This involves:
- Being at Church at least 25 minutes before the commencement of a Church Service to welcome people to Church. It is essential to be at ALL Services when on duty. At least one member should stay in the Vestibule until after the Announcements.
- Lifting the Offering - yourself and another member of the congregation, preferably not a Committee member, to assist on your side of the Church. When the Minister announces the lifting of the Offering, the Committee members should promptly collect baskets and give to those assisting.
- Open doors at the end of the Service before the Minister leaves the pulpit
- If a member is unable to be present they should ask another Committee member to deputise.
The monthly Team is responsible for opening and closing of the Church and Halls for Sunday School, Morning and Evening Worship.
The monthly Team is responsible for setting up the Church Halls for Sunday School and Evening Service and for removal of all chairs and equipment after the Evening Service.
Each member will be assigned to a sub-committee in which some ‘special duties’ will be allocated where appropriate.
The sub-committees will meet at 7.30 p.m. and will be chaired by the Convener. The full Committee will meet at 8.00 p.m.
Each member will be assigned a ‘District' in which they will distribute to members relevant ‘Church Information'. It is essential that such information is distributed punctually.
You have been chosen by the Congregation of Lissara to assist in the running of the ‘Temporal Affairs’ of Lissara and we hope that you will feel able to use your gifts to Glorify God in this way.
