Presbyterian Women (PW): - is an organisation for women within the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI). There have been women’s organisations within PCI for over 130 years. PW incorporates the former Presbyterian Women’s Association and the former Young Women’s Groups with a total membership of around 14,000 within 500 groups. PW Groups are envisaged as women’s fellowships in which women are encouraged to become Christians and to become Christ-like. In addition to supporting mission at home and overseas, each group is to seek ways of actively reaching women in its own area for Christ.
Motto: - Living for Jesus
Logo: - The circle around the cross represents women whose lives are centred on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mission Statement and Aims: - Presbyterian Women encourages women to become disciples of Christ.
Presbyterian Women aims to highlight the need for:
1. Love and unity
2. Obedience to God
3. Christian living and spiritual maturity
4. Service using gifts, time and money
5. Local and global mission
The theme for 2010/2011 is “Stir Us To Action”.

So as you plan for another year we pray that 2010/2011 will be a means of refreshing one another in the Lord as we share time and fellowship together.
As Paul says in Hebrews 10:24 - Let us consider how to 'stir up' one another to love and good works.

Prayer Support
Prayer is seen as vital to all the work of PW and members are encouraged to use the Points for Prayer handbook and the weekly telephone Prayerline. Prayerline is also available online or in printed form from the Overseas office.
Financial Support
As members of PCI it is the responsibility of PW members to give financial support to all the missionary work of PCI through the church's United Appeal. In addition PW members raise £0.65 million annually to specifically finance the home and overseas missionary work. This includes
Supporting missionaries while in training, in their work and when on home assignment.
proportion of some grants to partner churches.
full or part salaries of Deaconesses in congregations and areas of special service.
the maintenance of South Belfast Friendship House.
the Birthday Thank Offering Fund, which focuses on areas of specific need and PWA members are encouraged to give to it in gratitude for their birthdays.
PWA does not receive funds from the United Appeal.
Branch Support
Since its inception in 1873 the ladies' missionary organisation of PCI has been involved in education for mission. As an organisation with a long history of missionary support PW branches are encouraged to make full use of the resource materials produced by the organisation and information booklets, notice board packs and videos produced by the Overseas Board.
A programme committee produces appropriate material for branch meetings centred on the annual theme for PW. Branches are also encouraged to provide a link with women of other churches in Ireland and throughout the world. This is worked out locally, and at the wider level PWA is represented at Women's Link.
Member Support
The PW seeks to provide a base for fellowship amongst ladies within each congregation of PCI. Central to this fellowship and to all their service is the dedication of members' lives to Jesus Christ; this is the key to all that PW seeks to do.
Magazine
The PW has a quarterly magazine called Wider World which seeks to inspire and challenge the whole church about the Lord's work in Ireland and overseas.
