Message 20 March

To God’s people

Since meeting on Tuesday night as a Kirk Session, we have been presented with the very real challenge of how we build you up, God’s people, in spiritual fruitfulness and how we care for the flock. We can’t physically meet together at present to worship as a congregation but we can still worship. Worship as individuals and families in the regular use of Scripture, song and prayer, worshiping the triune God.

We want to try to help you to do this, to read, sing and pray in your own homes. This isn’t something new, rather it’s a practice that is first and foremost scriptural. In Colossians 3:16 Paul encourages believers to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.“

This is what we are to do, this is family worship and family worship is worship.

We have compiled a resource which will daily be put on our website ( and Facebook page from Monday 23 March. Myself and Scott Woodburn (minster of Edengrove) will bring you daily material that you can use as families and each Lord’s day we will publish a service for you to use, one for the morning and one for the evening.

Can I ask therefore that on this Lord’s day and every Lord’s day until we meet again that you would join us all at 11:30 in your own homes to worship as families for we are one people united in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. If you can please check our Facebook page or website ( as hopefully our service will be streamed or posted online.

Yours in the Lord’s service
